Keene Engineering has been a family owned and operated business for over 50 years. We take pride in our customers and always feel a sense of family towards them. In that spirit, we have created this section of our web site to pay tribute to those customers that have been so kind as to share in their prospecting adventures with us.

If you would like to share with us, e-mail us your picture with a brief description of where the picture was taken, when, and even a short tale to go along with it. We so enjoy the wonderful stories that our customers share with us, it would be nice to share those with all of you as well.

This page is graphic intensive! Please be patient while the images load.

Dean Hamilton's Gold Adventures in North Carolina!

Mr. Hamilton was kind enough to send us a few pictures from his mining exploits. He tells us that he has done quite a bit of mining in Rowan and Stanley County out in North Carolina with his Keene 4" Dredge. Mr. Hamilton tells us:

"As you can see the two white things under the motor are actually two air tanks that hold 4 gallons of air up to 100psi. I modified my frame a little to get these things under there and they work great."

Here Dean shares with us some of his treasures he recovered last year. He uses a dime to give us a little perspective of these beauties! The picker directly above the dime is the one Mr. Hamilton refers to as "my little fishy." I have to agree, that is a nice little catch and not just another fish tale!

Last but surely not least, Mr. Hamilton shows us the entire school of his golden fish!
I don't know about you folks but I sure would like to take a swim in those waters!

Thank you so much for sharing these pictures with us Mr. Hamilton! We hope the next ones we see are of the whale of a nugget you harpoon on your next adventure!

Mr. Michael Fender

Mr. Fender sent us this picture of his mining trip in November 2001 to Thermal City Gold Mine. Mr. Fender also carries the esteemed title of being KeeneEng.com's very first online customer! Thank you Mr. Fender and may your pan always be yellow!

In Memorium of Earl Krings

Earl Krings was one of Keene's favorite vintage prospectors and had graciously shared pictures with us of his American River adventure. Sadly, Earl passed away of a stroke at the age of 90. We continue to share his images here in tribute to Earl and his passion for prospecting.

To the left you can see that Earl had a very prosperous trip indeed! Great work Earl!

Below Earl showed us a nugget from his trip next to a silver dollar to show the size of this beauty! This nugget weighs in with a value of nearly $1,000.00!

Below is a picture of Earl in action on his adventure. Two 4" dredges side by side in the gorgeous American River. Looks like Earl and his dredging buddy took a time out to do the Macerena! What ain inspiration.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful trips with us Earl. You are missed and thought of fondly by us all.
